1. Who we are

KUMA Web Design is operated by Hugo Lancheros, a sole proprietor based in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. Hugo is responsible for your personal information (the "data controller"; in Colombia, the Responsable del Tratamiento; in Québec, the person in charge of the protection of personal information).

2. What we collect

We don't use advertising, tracking cookies or analytics tools. The site only keeps your language choice and your open chat in your own browser (local storage), and they never leave your device unless you send a message.

3. Why we use it

We never sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't add you to marketing lists without your separate, express consent.

4. Your consent

We only process your information with your consent: the checkbox on the contact form, or your clear "yes" in the chat before anything is saved. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us; we will stop contacting you and delete your information unless the law requires us to keep it.

5. About our AI assistant

Kuma is an AI assistant, not a person. To write its replies, your messages are processed by Google's Gemini AI. Please don't share sensitive information (health, financial or ID details) in the chat.

6. Who helps us (service providers) and international transfers

These providers may store or process information outside your country, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to local authorities under local law. We only share what each provider needs to do its job.

7. How long we keep it

We keep requests for up to 24 months after our last contact. If you become a client, we keep what's needed for the project and for legal and tax obligations. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

8. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, update or delete your information, to know how it's used, to receive proof of your consent, and to withdraw your consent, free of charge, using the privacy contact above.

9. Messages we send

We only email, call or text you about the request you made, with your consent (Canada's CASL, the US TCPA and CAN-SPAM). Any marketing message would clearly identify KUMA Web Design and include an easy way to unsubscribe. Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving them. Message and data rates may apply.

10. Security

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to requests is limited to Hugo, and access keys are stored encrypted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever put you at risk, we would notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

11. Children

This website is for businesses and is not directed to people under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors.

12. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above; important changes will be highlighted on the website.
